Are you getting a good night's sleep?

This week we have been mostly talking about not getting a good nights sleep. We don't know about you but we HATE those mornings after a sleepless night. You know the ones when you feel like you just can't get started and usually have an aching neck or back to accompany it!!

There's only so much coffee can do and nothing can beat a restful sleep to get you raring to go and ready to face the day ahead. We've been surfing the net for some useful tips for getting that all important sleep:

  • Regular sleep schedule - ideally you should go to sleep each night and wake each morning at the same time (yes even at the weekend, there are many here in the TJ's office objecting to this tip as we love our Sunday lie ins!!)
  • If you find yourself nodding off after dinner don't be tempted to have a nap, get up off the sofa and do something active. Don't just leave those dishes to dry on the draining board, get them dried and put away or why not call that friend you haven't spoken to for a while and keep meaning to call but just don't seem to get around to?
  • When it's time to sleep make sure the room is dark - the darker it is the better you'll sleep!
  • Make bedtime peaceful - keep noise to a minimum, make sure your room is not too warm or too cold (most people sleep best in a slightly cool room at around 18°C) and make sure your bed is comfortable. You should have enough room to stretch and turn comfortably, if you can't do this or you often wake with a sore back or aching neck you may need to invest in a new bed or mattress

Make sure you are sleeping peacefully in style with one of our beds. With a wide range to choose from we have a bed for everyone and to suit any pocket!

Eye Spy a Fabulous Outdoor Toy!

Winter months are when families really bond together (benefits of being cooped up at home...) and I don't know about you but having kids constantly indoors can get some of us silently praying for patience every now and then.

Fighting over toys... fighting over space...Argh it can get just a bit too much!

But there's not long to wait as the good weather is just round the corner. It's a good time to look for means of entertaining the kids 'outside' the house.

Children need fresh air and exercise not only for their overall growth and development but also for the sanity of their family members ;)

Outdoor toys like Trampolines, Swings, Bouncy Castles and Sandpits have been a favourite with kids over generations...

And, not only are they a lot of fun, but they're also great for developing cognitive skills.

Our outdoor toys are great long term investments as you get the best quality bargains with guarantees of up to 10 years with them! Its really worth the deal as not only can your child enjoy the toy till he/she grows up but so can their younger siblings or friends!

Trampolines are a great way to burn off some energy!

Did you know that trampolines are also a valuable tool for therapy for children with autism and sensory integration disorders?
Tiny Tots can enjoy too!

Children are enthralled by this amazing collection of swing sets from pirate themes to secret play den areas- and they burn off all that excess energy while developing some great creative skills!

A Warm Welcome!

Hello and Welcome to our New blog !

TJ Hughes is back with some bigger and better bargains specially for You

To begin with, we understand how hard life is these days with the recession still looming over our heads- and this bitter cold snap in the weather only adds to the problem. Here are a few products we thought would help keep you warm without adding undue pressure on your pocket.

Small portable Heaters are a great way to warm up the house without excessively increasing the gas or electricity bills.

Convector heaters are a good option as they use turbo fans to circulate air around in bursts of heat while the main body of the heater reaches required temperature. They end up warming the room rather fast and save power consumption.

Halogen heaters also give off instant heat and this benefits rooms that need to be warmed up quickly.

£ 14 Off Convector Heater - Just £ 15.99
£ 9 Off Halogen Heater - Just £ 9.99

How about trying an Oil Heater? They are very energy efficient and give out heat long after being switched off.

£ 4.96 Off Oil Radiator - Just £ 24.99
Mini Oil Radiator - Just £ 19.99

Electric blankets are another great way to save on the heating bills- as nothing works better than to have a warm cosy bed to jump into during the big freeze for a comfortable night's sleep.

Looking for something more contemporary? If you could fork out a bit more and would like an elegant woodfire effect in your home, go for a cost-effective option like a slim designer Panel heater which can be free-standing or mounted anywhere.
£ 160 Off Seville Wall Fire - Now for Just £ 99.99 !!
